Altitude Preparation
Preparing for Muktinath (3,710 m)
Stay well hydrated — drink 3–4 litres of water daily from 2 days before Muktinath
Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 3 days before the high-altitude day
Carry warm layers — temperatures can drop to 2–5°C even in May/June at Muktinath
Walk slowly, take rest breaks — do not exert yourself on the day of darshan
Carry personal medicines and inform your tour manager of any health conditions
Altitude sickness tablets (Diamox) — consult your doctor before the trip
